What's happening
Gobohub highlights a 300W gobo projector with logo engineered to cut through city light, stadium floodlights and moonlight for large outdoor branding. Each unit pairs with a precision-cut glass gobo lens for sharp, distortion-free logos and ships in an IP65-rated housing for year-round outdoor use. The vendor cites a European music festival and a Berlin dealership as reference installs.
Why it matters for buyers
For a retailer, venue or signage buyer, the practical effect is simple: the unit that reads on your wall at your ambient light, with your artwork, beats the one with the bigger number on the box. Specification order — distance, image size, ambient, then brightness — decides the result.
It also changes lead-time risk. Custom gobos and certified outdoor builds need briefing before the date is fixed; the projector is rarely the long pole, the artwork and certification are.
The technical angle
Ingress protection is the spec that quietly decides lifespan. IP65 keeps rain and dust out of the body; IP67 adds temporary immersion tolerance for ground-level or wash-down locations. The rating only holds if the cable gland and gasket are seated — a loose gland defeats a higher number.
What to specify
Before you request a quote, lock these down:
- Gobo material: glass for longevity and colour, metal for cheap short runs
- Image size you need at that distance
- Lead time on a custom gobo versus a stock pattern
- MOQ and dispatch window before the event date
