What's happening
Chinese OEM Aladdin publishes its custom gobo projection service, including pre-correction of image distortion for angled projection. Based on mounting height, distance, direction and angle, engineers adjust the gobo slide in advance so logos stay clear and correctly proportioned on floors or walls — recommended for projection angles above 30° and especially above 40°.
Why it matters for buyers
For a retailer, venue or signage buyer, the practical effect is simple: the unit that reads on your wall at your ambient light, with your artwork, beats the one with the bigger number on the box. Specification order — distance, image size, ambient, then brightness — decides the result.
It also changes lead-time risk. Custom gobos and certified outdoor builds need briefing before the date is fixed; the projector is rarely the long pole, the artwork and certification are.
The technical angle
Custom gobo turnaround is the real lead-time risk on a launch. Stock glass patterns ship in days; a bespoke etched logo with colour needs artwork sign-off plus production, so brief it before the date is fixed.
What to specify
Before you request a quote, lock these down:
- Gobo material: glass for longevity and colour, metal for cheap short runs
- Ambient light level at the hour the projection must read
- Image size you need at that distance
- Certifications required for the market (CE / RoHS / FCC)
