What's happening
Rosco's Image Spot kit bundles an IP65 outdoor-rated gobo projector, a choice of lens tube for different beam angles, and a custom black-and-white glass gobo made to the buyer's design. Using 45W, it projects crisp gobo images up to 12m away for hotel entrances, buildings, light trails and retail displays, controllable via DMX512 or onboard controls.
Why it matters for buyers
For a retailer, venue or signage buyer, the practical effect is simple: the unit that reads on your wall at your ambient light, with your artwork, beats the one with the bigger number on the box. Specification order — distance, image size, ambient, then brightness — decides the result.
It also changes lead-time risk. Custom gobos and certified outdoor builds need briefing before the date is fixed; the projector is rarely the long pole, the artwork and certification are.
The technical angle
Keystone correction belongs in the mount, not the software. Physically aim the projector square to the surface and you keep brightness even across the image; digital correction dims the corners to fake the geometry.
What to specify
Before you request a quote, lock these down:
- Image size you need at that distance
- MOQ and dispatch window before the event date
- Ingress rating if it lives outdoors or gets washed down
- Mounting surface and whether the bracket can hold aim
