What's happening
Infinity Projectors' KaleidoScope 8-Gobo Spin uses a motorized 8-position carousel that cycles designs continuously for constant motion on dancefloors and stages. It ships with both TriScope (3-prism) and PentaScope (5-prism) lenses free, up to 40 images in rotation with the 5-prism, and is IP65-rated for outdoor and washdown use. The honest tradeoff: splitting the beam divides output, so each copy reads dimmer, arguing for a higher wattage tier at the same spot.
Why it matters for buyers
For a retailer, venue or signage buyer, the practical effect is simple: the unit that reads on your wall at your ambient light, with your artwork, beats the one with the bigger number on the box. Specification order — distance, image size, ambient, then brightness — decides the result.
It also changes lead-time risk. Custom gobos and certified outdoor builds need briefing before the date is fixed; the projector is rarely the long pole, the artwork and certification are.
The technical angle
HD glass gobos carry finer detail but demand a cleaner optical path. Dust on the front window shows immediately on a high-detail image, so the maintenance interval shortens as resolution rises.
What to specify
Before you request a quote, lock these down:
- Image size you need at that distance
- Gobo material: glass for longevity and colour, metal for cheap short runs
- MOQ and dispatch window before the event date
- Certifications required for the market (CE / RoHS / FCC)
