What's happening
Noparde deployed high-power logo projectors for two US campaigns: a historic Detroit wall (no drilling permitted) lit via cross-street pole-mounted units, and a Houston highway wall. Features include IP67 die-cast aluminium housing, -40C to 60C tolerance, heat-pipe cooling and an anti-condensation breather valve. The vendor argues projection beats vinyl on cost, waste and installation safety.
Why it matters for buyers
For a retailer, venue or signage buyer, the practical effect is simple: the unit that reads on your wall at your ambient light, with your artwork, beats the one with the bigger number on the box. Specification order — distance, image size, ambient, then brightness — decides the result.
It also changes lead-time risk. Custom gobos and certified outdoor builds need briefing before the date is fixed; the projector is rarely the long pole, the artwork and certification are.
The technical angle
Ingress protection is the spec that quietly decides lifespan. IP65 keeps rain and dust out of the body; IP67 adds temporary immersion tolerance for ground-level or wash-down locations. The rating only holds if the cable gland and gasket are seated — a loose gland defeats a higher number.
What to specify
Before you request a quote, lock these down:
- Mounting surface and whether the bracket can hold aim
- MOQ and dispatch window before the event date
- Ambient light level at the hour the projection must read
- Image size you need at that distance
