How each works
A laser logo projector etches the mark with a tight beam — the logo stays razor sharp and does not bloom with distance. A gobo projector shines light through a glass or metal disc, so the artwork is fully customisable but softens slightly with throw and focus.
Sharpness and distance
Lasers win on pinpoint clarity, especially far away or on irregular surfaces. Gobos are sharp enough for most branding but need a good lens and correct focus to match.
Artwork flexibility
Gobos are the flexible choice: any logo, photo silhouette or text on a disc you swap in seconds. Laser marks are fixed to the etched module — changing the logo means a new laser cartridge.
Cost and safety
Laser units carry class/eye-safety rules and often cost more; gobo projectors are simpler and cooler. Both need responsible aiming away from eyes.
Side-by-side
Pick by need:
| Need | Laser | Gobo |
|---|---|---|
| Pinpoint sharpness | Best | Good |
| Artwork swap | Fixed module | Any disc, seconds |
| Distance hold | Excellent | Good with lens |
| Cost | Higher | Lower |
| Creative freedom | Limited | High |
When each wins
Choose laser for a single fixed mark at long distance (stadium, facade) where sharpness is everything. Choose gobo for campaigns, multiple logos and creative effects.
