Start with backdrop distance
Measure from your proposed mount to the backdrop or floor spot. Most booths read from 3–15 m, so you need a unit that stays sharp and bright across that range, not a long-throw facade beast.
Win against ambient light
Expo halls are bright and flat. Use a high-contrast single-colour or white gobo on a matte, unlit panel, and do not wash it with your own stand spots. A little haze can make a beam read without lighting the wall.
Power and rigging reality
Booth power is shared and limited. Confirm wattage with the organiser, clamp or stand the unit safely, and keep cables clear of the walkway. A rechargeable unit removes the daisy-chain headache entirely.
Logo size for a glance
Size the mark to be read at a glance from the aisle, not as fine print. Attendees decide in seconds whether to stop; a bold, bright logo earns the stop.
Campaign flexibility
Keep spare gobo discs — marque, product silhouette, offer — and swap them per show. This is cheaper and lighter than rebuilding signage for every event.
